Conference Venue

Registration and welcome is on Sunday
31 August 2003, from 16:00 to 19:00 at the Hotel Dent Blanche.
The lectures will be given in the gymnastic hall of the central
school. Lectures start at 8:30 (8:10 on Monday). Afternoons are free. Preceding
the evening sessions refreshments will be served.
On Monday, starting at 16:30, and Wednesday at 18:00 a poster
session is held at the Hotel Dent Blanche. Authors are asked to make a flash
presentation, 3 Minutes and 3 overhead slides maximum. After the Monday poster
session, the President of Evolène, Monsieur Pralong, has invited us
to a reception.
On Wednesday afternoon we will visit the largest dam in the
Alps which is used for the production of electricity. Buses will pick you
up from the conference site at 13:00.
On Thursday evening, the conference dinner takes place. We start
at 19:00, with an aperitif served in the garden of Hotel Dent Blanche.
The conference will finish on Friday at 12:15.
The conference desk is open daily from 7:45 to 13:00, and 16:00 to 18:00.

Presentations
Speakers are obligated to contact
the presentation coordinators, Maxi Scheinert and Alex Borak, the evening
prior to their presentation. Presentation data files should be copied onto
the conference laptops (XP or MAC OS X). In case this does not work (because
of system incompatibility, fonts conflicts etc.), the speakers are kindly
asked to use their personal laptop. In this case, the authors should appear
30 minutes before the beginning of the corresponding session to connect and
install their laptop on the beamer switchbox for testing.
Papers and talks for the conference CD are to be delivered also
to the presentation coordinators. We can accept data in PDF format only.
(For posters, EPS or PS is accepted). Installed programs on the conference
laptops include Illustrator 10.x, PowerPoint MS-Office and Acrobat (Distiller
included) so you can convert your presentation to PDF at the site if necessary.
Posters are to be fixed on 195 cm wide and 95 cm high boards.
Recommended poster size is DIN A0 in landscape.
